Bennett Cunningham
Bennett Cunningham's hard-hitting style exposes wrongdoing, resulting in broad, far-reaching policy changes that affect the Dallas/Fort Worth community.
Most recently, he broke a national story on certain Ford vehicles catching fire and burning down homes. Weeks after Bennett's investigation, Ford began voluntary recalling trucks that resulted in the largest automotive recall in US history.
Prior to joining CBS 11 News, Bennett was a reporter with KTVK-TV in Phoenix. While there, he uncovered a secret smuggling operation of computer microprocessors at the Intel manufacturing plant. He also was the lead reporter during the four-month federal criminal trial of former Arizona Governor J. Fife Symington.
An award-winning journalist, Bennett has received several prestigious awards during his career, including the 2003 Texas Headliner Award for Best Hard News Story; a 2001 Regional Emmy Award for Best Investigative Story; a 1997 Regional Emmy Award for Best Feature Story; and an Associated Press Award for Best Investigative Story in 1997. He received a nomination for Best TV News Story in 2002 from the Dallas Press Club. Bennett is also a licensed attorney in the state of Texas.
