Gary Schneider

Senior Vice President & Station Manager

Prior to joining CBS 11 and TXA 21, Gary served as Vice President and General Manager of KEYE-TV in Austin. During his time there, he led the station to significant gains throughout every local newscast, including a 40 percent increase in ratings in the mornings. Prior to that, Gary founded and launched ROI Interactive, which, in less than a year, landed deals with more than 70 local stations, 90 professional sports teams (including the NBA and NHL) and other media and entertainment companies. He eventually sold the venture to another Texas e-mail company, but stayed on for an additional year.

Gary has also served as president of Sky Television, a Dallas-based high-tech and multi-media video production company. While there, he oversaw daily operations and the creation and syndication of programming, including "The Home Computing Edge," "Mark's Web World" and "The Computer Man." He also oversaw the development of news features and quarterly specials for local broadcast, cable and new media outlets.

In addition, Gary spent almost 10 years with Gaylord Entertainment (1987-96), where he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the company's local TV stations KHWB in Houston and KSTW in Seattle -- promotions he earned after years of serving in a variety of sales and sales management positions. At 32 years old, Gary became the company's youngest Vice President and General Manager, and was responsible for the largest one-year financial turnaround in the company's broadcast history at KHWB in Houston.
