Joel Thomas
Joel Thomas is an Emmy award-winning journalist with more than 15 years of television experience. He earned his bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in political science. He enjoyed writing at an early age, and by junior high school decided to steer his future toward journalism. Joel wrote and shot photos for his hometown newspaper while in high school and focused his energy on broadcasting during his college years.
Over the years, Joel has worked in Bryan/College Station, Austin, New Orleans and Atlanta. During that time he's covered a wide range of events, including the Branch Davidian stand-off, the Oklahoma City bombing, and President Clinton's impeachment. His work has received numerous awards including more than a dozen from the Associated Press, a Texas Headliner's Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award and an Emmy Award.
