Julie Bologna
Julie is excited to be forecasting weather for CBS 11 News and North Texas. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has family living in the Lone Star State, previously in Port Lavaca and now in Austin and San Antonio.
Julie has experience forecasting many types of weather including: snow, sleet, freezing rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, flooding and even hurricanes. Julie's career path has taken her to many cities. She came to CBS 11 News from WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, where she did the morning and noon weekday weather. Before that, she worked as the Chief Meteorologist at WPHL-TV in Philadelphia; WHP/WLYH-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as the prime-time meteorologist; WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania as the weekend weather forecaster and weekday reporter; WTOV-TV in Steubenville, Ohio as a part-time weather forecaster. She has also worked at WMBA-AM as a news anchor/reporter and host in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
Julie graduated with a degree in journalism and a minor in theater. She earned her Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Julie has been awarded the Seals of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. She has also won 2 Emmys for Outstanding Weathercaster.
Julie is involved in many charitable organizations and enjoys teaching children about weather and television. She and her husband recently welcomed their first child, a baby boy, to the family. They also have two dogs and a cat. Julie loves to travel, and she tries to take as many trips as possible to learn about different people and places.
