Rance Adams
Born and raised in Texas, Rance graduated from Plano East High School and went to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on an academic/athletic scholarship.
Rance says he's always wanted to be involved in the film/television industry. His earliest goals were to direct films and work on big budget crews. He gradually changed his focus to editing.
While at UALR, Rance was a recurring member of the college station's music video program, Video Zoo, where he got his first taste of life in front of the camera. "I really had no idea that would be where my future career path would go," he said.
Rance graduated with a bachelor's degree in Radio/TV/Film.
He then worked at KARK in Little Rock, working his way up from part-time crew member to studio manager.
Homesick, Rance came back to Dallas to find himself. After a few years out of television, he was re-introduced to the industry by coincidence, by a friend who was leaving UPN before the CBS merger. He became involved with some on-camera work in promotions, but still did not see television as his career. "My goals had shifted somewhat as I had become heavily involved with the Dallas music scene," he said. He was the frontman for a band and worked to get other local acts some notoriety.
Once CBS and UPN merged, Rance became part of the production department, and was back in news. A few months later, his life changed dramatically after he was approached about an extreme sports show called "Xtreme Motion." He auditioned and became the host. The show ran for three years.
Rance has since been the host of "Gimme the Mike," been a part of the local UPN 21 U-Crew, and contributed reports to CBS 11 News, The Daily Buzz and TXA 21 News.
He and his wife, Lisa, have two dogs.
