Scott Sams

Scott Sams literally grew up on television. He made his first TV appearance on Romper Room when he was just six weeks old!

Much later, Scott became the weekend sports anchor/weekday sports reporter at a station in Louisville, KY. Next, he returned to his hometown of Knoxville, Tenn., where he did weather, sports, news and hosted long-form programming. During this time, he also met his future wife, Lisa, at a charity fundraiser.

In June of 1985, Scott joined WFAA-TV in Dallas, where he would stay for almost 20 years, anchoring weather, sports and news.

Scott joined CBS 11 in April of 2007 from KTEN-TV in Sherman, where he anchored the evening and late newscasts. Throughout his career in broadcasting, Scott has anchored newscasts which received numerous awards, including three EMMY Awards and two Edward R. Murrow Awards.

Scott is active in his church, and in his spare time, enjoys his Friday afternoon movie dates with Lisa and playing golf.
