Stephanie Lucero
Stephanie Lucero is a veteran reporter for CBS 11 News. She covers all types of issues, from breaking news to on-going immigration issues. Over the course of her 20-year career, she has reported on the Branch Davidian standoff, Jessica McClure, the little girl who fell down the well in Midland, Texas, and she has followed the plight of immigrants who have risked their lives crossing into the U.S. illegally.
Stephanie is a native of Los Angeles but has called Dallas home since 1984, when she began reporting for the CBS station for North Texas. Getting to Dallas was no easy task; Stephanie got her first job as a television reporter by spending a lot of her free time with reporters at KNBC in Los Angeles. That's where she started in news; as the secretary for the News Director.
Stephanie has been a reporter in New Orleans, Las Vegas and Reno, as well as in the DFW market - exciting towns for news coverage.
Success comes in many forms, but Stephanie believes you don't succeed in this business by waiting for the story to come to you. "Hard work isn't an option, it's part of everything I do. My mother instilled an incredibly positive attitude in me, and that has encouraged me to reach high every day."
Stephanie is the proud mother of twin boys and she is married to long-time sweetheart, Craig Casler. "I've chosen to keep my maiden name on the air because I am so proud of my roots."
Stephanie is a founding member of the DFW Network of Hispanic Communicators and an advocate for all Latinos interested in a career in television journalism.
