Tracy Kornet
Tracy Kornet is a five-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and anchor of CBS 11 News at 4:00 p.m. and TXA 21 News: First in Prime weekdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tracy started her news career in Lexington, Kentucky, where she reported, anchored and traveled the country field-anchoring coverage of the NCAA championship Kentucky Wildcats. In 2000, she moved to Phoenix to launch and host the Valley's first morning magazine show, "Sonoran Living LIVE." After the September 11, 2001 attacks, Tracy returned to the news desk, pulling double-duty as morning news anchor and talk show host.
When the opportunity arose in 2006 to launch TXA 21 News in Dallas/Fort Worth, Tracy was thrilled to move the family closer to their southern roots.
Tracy says her most exciting television moments were co-hosting "The View" in New York and appearing on "Good Morning America." Her most fulfilling job, however, is as wife and mother of three: John, Nicole and Luke. Tracy is also the lead singer of the station band, Eleven21. In her free time, you'll find her leading women's Bible study, singing at gigs around town, traveling and indulging in her love of Broadway with her daughter, Nicole, by her side.
A native of Chicago and raised in Tampa, Tracy holds a degree in communications from the University of Kentucky. She hopes to one day complete her graduate work at the Patterson School for Diplomacy and International Commerce in Lexington.
