Record Number Of DISD Schools Rated Above Average

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Dallas Independent School District officials are touting its preliminary academic success and state ratings.

A record number of schools are now rated above average, according to officials. A total of 84 schools are now recognized-rated schools and 43 are now top-rated schools.

School district leaders point to core concepts used in every classroom as the key to their success.

DISD isn't the only district excited about its students' performance on the TAKS test. Officials with the Arlington school district said more than half of its schools are expected to earn an exemplary or recognized rating. Plano ISD has 19 exemplary schools and 6 recognized.
