A Dallas ISD school in so much turmoil, parents and teachers are now protesting against it.
The Superintendent of the school district is now weighing in on a series of controversies centering around the school principal.
Truett Elementary School in East Dallas is facing a wide divide inside and outside the school.
It is an overcrowded, academically-challenged school. For those who have been inside, their assessment is the school is an embarrassment for DISD.
Almost 12-hundred children fill Truett Elementary school.
But bursting at the seams is a growing sentiment about its operation.
"My son says he hates the school, and a first grader should not say that" says parent Frances Rodriguez.
Rodriguez shares the same frustrations as other parents here. They are targeting the principal, accusing her of fostering a school environment of belittling children, disrespecting parents and threatening teachers.
"Parents try to talk to her, she don't want to talk to them" says parent German Valladares.
Principal Tiffany Nemec is in her second year as principal of Truett Elementary. She didn't return phone calls from CBS 11, and the district would not allow our camera inside the school.
Representatives from the teachers association are also complaining says Alliance AFT spokesman George Rangel. "We'd like a change to be made because this only affects the children, and something needs to be done now."
Superintendent Michael Hinojosa added his voice today. "I'm trying to be patient, but not known form my patience... There are some issues. I'm giving them (the school) time to deal with issues, but my fuse is getting shorter."
Not everyone believes the school is in turmoil. Keondria Dorsey simply calls it change. "I see change the change is for the better, but I do see a lot of complaints. It may not be going as smoothly as they want to go."
