Cowboys Say Stadium Ready For First Event

ARLINGTON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Workers were putting the finishing touches on Cowboys Stadium Friday in preparation for the first event at the new facility.

George Straight will headline a concert there on Saturday night.

The building received its certificate of occupancy from the city on Friday afternoon, which means the show can go on as planned.

Even so, workers were doing some last-minute painting and cleaning to get ready for Saturday's show.

Crews also removed many pieces of construction equipment from the building.

Getting in and out of the area could be a challenge for concert-goers on Saturday.

New exits, confusing construction, and a brand-new stadium experience could all equal trouble for drivers headed to Cowboys Stadium.  Now a new website is offering help to drivers.

The interactive site dallascowboysmaps.com allows stadium patrons to enter their ZIP code to find the fastest routes to and from the facility in Arlington.

Stadium officials say some concert-goers might want to consider parking at the Ballpark in Arlington and walking to Cowboys Stadium.

Parking at the Ballpark will cost $40, and only cash will be accepted.
