Not Real Deal, Cowboys Ready For Real Tuneup

IRVING (AP) ―

A bitter home playoff loss against the New York Giants in January hasn't doused high expectations this season for Dallas.

The Cowboys are winless in the pre-season.

Dallas tomorrow will host the Houston Texans, who've won both of their pre-season games.

The Cowboys will finally put their primary players on extended display.

Coach Wade Phillips plans to play his starters into the second half, maybe even the entire third quarter.

Phillips says the Cowboys made the switch out of training camp mode after getting home this week -- and responded with their best practices so far.

The Texans also plan to play their starters for three quarters, including QB Matt Schaub.

Houston's Andre Johnson, who missed the first two preseason games because of a strained groin sustained three weeks ago, is expected to start -- but not play a full three quarters.
