Dallas Cowboys Cut Roster To 75 Players

IRVING (AP) ― The Dallas Cowboys released four players Monday and reached an injury settlement with fullback Ronnie Cruz to reach the 75-player limit a day before the deadline.

Cruz, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury, played 19 games with Kansas City in 2005 and 2006. He was released by the Chiefs during training camp last year while recovering from a knee injury.

The players released were cornerback Quincy Butler, quarterback Jeff Terrell and a pair of rookie free agents, punter Jay Ottovegio and receiver Daniel Polk.

Butler, who spent the past two seasons on the Cowboys' practice squad, had been dealing with a hamstring injury throughout camp.

The cut to 53 players has to be made by Saturday.
