Cowboys Release Oglesby & Sign Davis

IRVING (CBS 11 News / AP) ― The Dallas Cowboys signed free agent safety Keith Davis on Wednesday after the Miami Dolphins cut him from the team before the final preseason game.

The former Dallas safety and special teams standout now enters his sixth season in the NFL, all of which have been with the Cowboys. Davis had signed a two-year free agent deal with the Dolphins after last season.

Davis now returns to Dallas. He has 111 defensive tackles in 68 games.

Dallas originally signed Davis as an undrafted free agent in April 2002.

The Cowboys released cornerback Evan Oglesby on Tuesday, a move that opened up a spot for Davis on the team's 53-man roster.

Oglesby played eight games for the Cowboys last season, recording two tackles on defense and three on special teams.
