Cops: Fake Cowboys Tickets Sold On Craig's List

PLANO (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― A North Texas man is now in jail, accused of trying to sell fake tickets to Saturday's Dallas Cowboys game.

Plano police recently received a tip from one of the suspect's unsatisfied customers. The victim said he purchased two tickets to Saturday night's game over the internet.

The victim told police he purchased them on Craig's List.

Police arrested 27-year-old James Paul Grayson of Richardson. Plano police believe Grayson sold a copy of the ticket several times to several different buyers.

Undercover officers met up with Grayson at Collin Creek Mall. Officers purchased the same copy of the ticket for the same two seats for the same game. The tickets were for section 3, row 17, seats 9 and 10.

"We may have several individuals show up on the same day to go to this same game," said Rick McDonald with the Plano Police Department.

The Dallas Cowboys ticket office has been notified about the arrest.

"We don't know how many people he actually sold those tickets to. That's why we wanted to get it out as quickly as possible," said McDonald. "They may be able to make a few phones calls, maybe save themselves a trip."

The Dallas Cowboys say there's no guarantee when fans buy tickets from scalpers, brokers, Craig's List or from eBay. But there is a guarantee for tickets purchased directly through Ticketmaster, Ticket Exchange and the Dallas Cowboys Organization.
