5 Dallas Cowboys Going To Pro Bowl

NEW YORK (AP) ― It's the All-Star Game of the National Football League and Tuesday the Pro Bowl selections were announced.

Five members of the Dallas Cowboys were named to the elite team.  Four Dallas Cowboys players earned starting positions and another will make his first trip to the 2009 game in Hawaii.

Three players on offense were selected.  Leonard Davis will make his second appearance, center Andre Gurode was selected for a third time and Jason Witten will be making his fifth Pro Bowl appearance, tying the record held by joining Jay Novacek for the most appearances by a tight end in club history.

Gurode and Witten were named as starters to the NFC squad.

Defensive players Jay Ratliff and DeMarcus Ware were also selected.   It's the first Pro Bowl selection for Ratliff and Ware was named as a starter for the third straight year.

This marks the 29th season in which the Dallas Cowboys have had five or more Pro Bowl selections.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was not selected, although he is second in the NFC with a 98.3 passer rating. He has passed for 3,013 yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, but missed three games with a broken finger.

Houston Texans wide receiver Andrew Johnson and defensive end Mario Williams will also start.

The Pro Bowl will be held February 8 in Honolulu.
