Jessica Simpson Not Seen At Cowboys-Giants Game

IRVING (AP) ― There were plenty of blonde women in the stands wearing pink Tony Romo jerseys, but girlfriend Jessica Simpson didn't appear to be one of them.

The pop singer-actress was apparently not in attendance to watch her boyfriend, the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, take on the New York Giants in a playoff game Sunday.

Simpson's publicist said earlier in the week she was working on a new album and would not be there to support the Cowboys quarterback.

Simpson proudly displayed her pink Romo jersey to television cameras during the Cowboys' game against Philadelphia on Dec. 16. Romo injured his throwing thumb and had one of his worst games of the season against the Eagles.

Many fans blamed Simpson's presence for Romo's poor outing, even though she had attended other Cowboys games and he played just fine.

There was another stir after pictures of couple vacationing last week in Mexico during Dallas' bye weekend surfaced.

Romo and Cowboys coach Wade Phillips considered the trip a non-issue.

"I don't think it is a big deal," Romo said earlier in the week. "Whether too much is being made is open for discussion. But I don't think that it really affects anything."
