New 'Tailgating' Policy At Texas Stadium

IRVING (CBS 11 News) ―

There's a new tailgating policy at Texas Stadium in Irving. Now the parking space ticket holders pay for is also the one they tailgate in. Fans also have to stay within the front-to-back marked area for the space; meaning if a car is parked there, depending on the size, there's only about a foot left for tailgating.

The new policy was implemented at last week's pre-season game and fans are still getting used to it.

"
I don't think it's right," fan Darold Edwards said. "For the last season [at Texas Stadium] they should give the fans a time to enjoy themselves. Give us the space."

Most people say they'll move if security tells them to, but they aren't fans of the new tailgating policy.

"I got seats at new stadium but the areas where you're not blocking traffic, meeting their goals; it makes no sense not to tailgate there," Fan Kyle Faegre said pointing to an area. "That's where we been tailgating for years."

Violators could face penalties that include – losing parking privileges or admission to the game.
