It was a star-studded kickoff to the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign at Texas Stadium in Irving today.
Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones and tween sensations the Jonas Brothers were on hand to launch the nation's largest holiday charitable fundraiser.
But dreams were also coming true for a Rockwall boy.
Chandler Glidewell suffers from cerebral palsy. He has difficulty with certain motor skills, but has normal mental development. But his parents didn't always know that.
"When he was little he liked to watch football," Angie said, "because of the action that was going on. And when he was about two and he started doing hand signals, and we knew he understood what was going on with the game."
Hence Chandler's fondness for the home town team
and as it turns out, some hometown teens as well. The Jonas Brothers live here in North Texas too. And thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Chandler is able to get up close and personal with both.
"Make-A-Wish called and they asked me what his wish would be," Angie said. "What I said was 'To meet Tony Romo.' "
But then Chandler changed his mind. When the people from the Make-A-Wish Foundation got to his house, he said he wanted to meet the Jonas Brothers.
So as the brothers rehearsed Wednesday for their Thanksgiving Day show, Chandler was there. And on Thursday, he and his family will watch the Cowboys take on the Seahawks in style from a suite at Texas Stadium.
