The Dallas Cowboys will bid farewell to Texas Stadium following their game against the Baltimore Ravens on Dec. 20.
A post game ceremony is expected to include hundreds of former players and the lowering of the Super Bowl banners from the rafters.
The Cowboys contest against the Ravens that Saturday will mark the last regular season game to be played at Texas Stadium.
Since playing their first game in the stadium "with the hole in the roof" on Oct. 24, 1971, the Cowboys have won 212 games at Texas Stadium, including 16 victories in the postseason.
All five of the Cowboys Super Bowls have been won since the team started playing in Texas Stadium.
The Cowboys will begin playing in a new, retractable roof stadium in Arlington starting next season.
The new venue will be the largest NFL stadium ever built and is expected to have a capacity of up to 100,000.
Designers and team leaders say the new stadium will pay tribute to Texas Stadium with monumental arches that are designed to embody the spirit of the "hole in the roof."
