Dick Clark Returns To Malibu Home

Released From Hospital After Suffering Minor Stroke

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― American bandstand icon Dick Clark has been released from a Burbank hospital more than seven weeks after suffering what has been described as a minor stroke.

Clark's publicist Paul Shefrin says the 75-year-old Clark returned to his Malibu home today and will continue recuperation there. There were no details about his plans to return to work.

Shefrin says Clark wished to express his thanks for the many cards and letters from well-wishers during his hospital stay.

For the time in 32 years, Clark was unable to host his "New Year's Rockin' Eve" from Times Square. Daytime talk show host Regis Philbin stood in and Clark watched from his hospital bed.

Clark also produces the American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and Golden Globe Awards.
