TXA 21 News Looks For The Next 'Cowbell Hero'

RICHARDSON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Many people have seen the now classic "Saturday Night Live" skit where Christopher Walken requests "more cowbell" from Will Ferrell. The band that inspired the comedy bit, Blue Oyster Cult, played a concert in DFW at the Wildflower Music Festival.

TXA 21 News took advantage of the rare opportunity and sent Chandler from radio partner Jack FM to the festival to see if people attending the concert could provide "more cowbell" in a 'Cowbell Hero' challenge, a parody of popular video game "Guitar Hero."

As it turns out, the idea was not very original. A quick look at YouTube shows several 'Cowbell Hero' parodies done in similar fashion. Check them out.
