It has the makings of a reality show: both "Project Runway" winner Christian Siriano and "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad are creating gowns for this month's Emmy Awards.
Siriano's selection as designer for one of the so-called "trophy girls" who hand over Emmy statues to presenters was announced Monday. The TV academy previously said that said Conrad, who's started her own clothing line, will be dressing a trophy bearer.
Siriano was the winning designer on last season's "Project Runway."
"It has been so inspiring watching the Emmys every year to see who is going to be the most fabulous diva at the show. ... It will be such an experience seeing my own creation on stage," he said in a statement.
Siriano will have "Project Runway" company, with the show's Heidi Klum serving as one of five reality show hosts who are to emcee the awards. All five are nominated in a new category recognizing their work.
Besides Klum, they include Tom Bergeron of "Dancing With the Stars"; Ryan Seacrest of "American Idol"; Howie Mandel of "Deal or No Deal" and Jeff Probst of "Survivor."
The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to air Sept. 21 on ABC.
