State Fair Winner: Apple-Pear Praline Pie

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― George Yates of Dallas won a blue ribbon and a $200 cash award in the Pillsbury Pie Baking Championship held at the State Fair of Texas on Sunday.

His Apple Pear Apple-Pear Praline Pie won 1st place out of the 44 entries.

His recipe now moves on to national judging, where it will compete against 26 other 1st place winning recipes from state and county fairs around the country for a $1,000 grand prize.

This is the 7th year Yates has entered the contest and encourages everyone to try it out this recipe.
