July 2 - Daily Soaps Update
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS As Sharon worries about everything they have left to do before the party,
Jack distracts her with a romantic kiss. Jack and Sharon's romantic mood is
shattered when Gloria and Jeff arrive home. Jack and Sharon are shocked to
learn that Gloria and Jeff are remarried. Sharon is ecstatic that Gloria can
afford to move out of the pool house now, but Jack still wonders if he should
let them stay for John. Jeff has a surprise for Gloria but she is wary of
what it is when Jeff shows her a dog bone. Jeff gives Gloria back her
diamonds. Gloria casually drops the bomb on Nikki that she saw David in Las
Vegas. Nikki tries to remain composed in the face of this information but her
facade crumbles and Gloria tries to reach out to her. At Jabot, as Nick and
Victoria are arriving to meet with Nikki, Cane invites Jill to dinner.
Nikki calls David, who doesn't pick up. Meanwhile, Chloe is going over
headshots from the other Fresh Faces and decides to use the poor ones for
her own means. When Nikki admits to Victoria and Nick that David is gambling
again, they want Nikki to leave him. Nikki assures them that she is staying
with David no matter what to help him fight his addiction. Meanwhile, David
agrees to work for Walter again. Jill informs Chloe that they need Lily back
from Los Angeles, but Chloe assures her that she and Cane can start without
Lily. Chloe shows Jill the bad headshots of the other Fresh Faces and Jill
decides that Lily is the right person to be the face of Jabot. Chloe
continues to play Jill by suggesting that she and Cane work together on
Lily's campaign. Meanwhile, Cane and Neil discuss Tyra and Ana's appearance
in town. Neil is determined to protect Devon. At Indigo, Ana and Tyra
arrive to have dinner with Neil, Karen and Devon. Devon tries to prove to
Neil that Tyra and Ana are only there to visit by calling the hotel where
Tyra works in Seattle. Devon gets a recording telling him that the hotel
has closed, indefinitely. Before anyone can react they hear Ana's amazing
singing voice. Tyra confesses everything to Neil and Devon, including that Cane
is paying for their hotel room. Neil thanks Cane but immediately takes
control. Karen, after talking to Tyra, encourages Neil to help them. Later,
Neil invites Tyra and Ana to stay with him. Chloe enters and announces to
Cane that Lily will be the solo Fresh Face of Jabot from now on and Cane
will be supervising.
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
The Logan sisters devise a plan to keep their mother from returning to Paris.
Meanwhile, Beth once again tries to run away from her problems but is
stopped by Stephen. Brooke and her sisters intervene and continue their
plea to Beth to stay with them. Beth's demeanor veers out of character as
she lashes out at her family and yells at them to leave her alone. Katie
delivers an emotional speech which makes Beth have second thoughts about her
plans to leave town. Phoebe warns Steffy that Ridge is not happy about the
relationship that has developed between Steffy and Marcus. Steffy makes her
feelings clear and declares that Ridge cannot dictate who she can hang out
with. Marcus explains to Rick about why he hid his identity. Rick understands
because he can relate to being on Ridge's bad side. A mysterious man
arrives at Forrester Creations looking for Marcus and introduces himself as
Owen Knight.
AS THE WORLD TURNS
Paul comes to the farm determined to tell Meg the truth but finds Mike
instead who admits he told Meg about Sofie's baby. Meanwhile, Meg confronts
Sofie and accuses her of lying. Sofie shows her the sonogram, tells her to
do the math and Meg is shocked. Paul goes looking for Meg at Barbara's who
arrives breathless, saying she was out for a walk. Then Paul goes to Sofie's and
finds her on the floor, barely conscious, a syringe beside her. He asks who
did this and she speaks Meg's name before dying. Paul is about to call for
help when he thinks better of it and wraps Sofie up in a sheet. He disposes
of all the evidence and after a close call with a maid, brings Sofie to
Fairwinds where he buries her.
Everyone gathers for Margo and Tom's anniversary. Chris arrives late and
drunk and outside with Kim, admits that he lied in the court case. Kim
realizes Chris can't live in Bob's shadow and suggests he leave Oakdale
again. Chris goes and Kim explains to Nancy that Chris is having trouble
living up to Bob's expectations. Toasts are made and Lisa gives Tom and Margo a
photo album of their life.
A depresses Alison almost takes a drink but Aaron stops her. To cheer her up
he takes her to dance and Chris arrives to see them. Chris approaches and
tells Alison she won and he is quitting the hospital and Alison feels for
him.
GUIDING LIGHT
There's a trace of disappointment in Ava's face as Bill says their wedding is
the hottest ticket in town. Dinah plays along when Olivia says that Ava will
be lady of the house-but we see her still claiming ownership. Lizzie finds
a moment to slip in to the wedding. Dinah catches scraped up Lizzie in the
bushes and throws her out. Remy sneaks in and tells Ava not to marry Bill-but
she doesn't change her mind.
Lizzie goes to Reva, conflicted with what the right thing to do is concerning
Bill. Reva reminds Bill of Lewis tradition-up until the "I do" it's never to
late to walk away. Bill tells Remy to make the smart choice and walk away
from Ava. Ava realizes she left the necklace Bill gave her upstairs and goes
to get it. Ava finds Remy in her room and he tells her he's in love with her.
Lizzie tells Bill that he's not the father of Ava's baby.
