Simple Reflection Or A Holy Apparition?

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― One North Texas family is asking that question after an unusual image appeared at their sick child's bedside.

Five-year-old Santos Christian Arreola is his typically playful self even though just yesterday he finished his last of 30 radiation treatments at the Kansas City Cancer Center.

But it was treatment 13 that Santo's father - who lives in North Richland Hills - will never forget.

"The day before I was in the radiation room where he was getting treatments at and I prayed to go to protect him," said Alfredo Arreola. "I went back the next day with my camera and that's when I took the picture... and it was just… answered."

Captured on the wall behind his son's bed is what Arreola and many others believe is a heavenly sign. "I saw an angel being there, watching over him. To me, I've seen a divine image... what it looks like the Virgin Mary standing behind him. So far it's helping me through a lot too."

CBS 11 crews in Kansas City spoke to the radiologist who runs the x-ray machine. She had no explanation.

"There's nothing it should have reflected off, no Lucite or glass in room to have it reflected off of," said the radiation oncologist.

Whatever the reason for the image on this hospital wall, Arreola says the fact it exists has been miraculous to him. It's an enormous amount of comfort that he's not alone.

Arreaola also says you don't have to believe the image on the wall is anything supernatural. But what he does ask is that you please pray for his son Santos Christian.
