Last Minute New Year's Eve Hair Tips
As we ring in the New Year, we spend so much time thinking about what we are going to wear - as we should. The last thing usually on our mind is what we are going to with our hair. I have some last minute tips for you and some ideas you can tuck into the back of your mind for when we watch the ball drop next year.
A couple things to think about when planning your New Year's hairdo:
Check the weather. Is it going to be windy, rainy, or perfectly calm and starry? If the weather outlook is stormy, remember to think about the natural texture of your hair. Humidity brings lots of volume and possible frizz to curly textured hair so use extra product and sweep your hair up with curls. For those of us with naturally board straight hair go sleek and up without the curls. An update of a French twist is an easy classic look.
Next, think about the type of party and activities you will be doing. Are you going to casual cocktail party or a fast and furious dance party where you will be out all night? If you want to begin the night with beautiful flowing curls, be ready with some bobby pins. If your curls start to droop, bring all or part of your hair up with a twisting motion and pin for security.
Now for a new idea for your next night on the town go to
Elixir Salon & Day Maker.com and schedule an appointment for Hair Candy. Hair Candy is shimmery thread that is woven into your hair for that fun and flirty look. You can go subtle with a shiny translucent thread or bold with electric blue or indigo. Fifteen Hair Candy Strands are $35 and last 1 to two weeks.
New Years is an evening made for celebration. As always remember beauty should be fun. Celebrate your unique beauty and style. Happy New Years! See you in 2009.
