How To Go From Sexy To Sexier
Danielle Arnett
Have you ever wondered what small changes would make a really big impact on your look? Well that is exactly what we did for Chandler, our TXA entertainment expert, and Patty Revis, our TXA employment expert.
Chandler has a great rocker look going from him, which we all love. So Robert Morales, Creative Director for Elixir Salon & Day Maker, consulted with Chandler and found out that he had not had a hair cut in three years!
He also shared with Robert that he uses a combination of olive oil and hand lotion as his styling aids. Knowing this, Robert and Shannon, our color expert, formed a plan to take Chandler's look up a notch.
1. Robert took of some split ends - about three inches of them.
2. Shannon freshened his hair color with a semi-permanent AVEDA color. This color helped even out his hair color root to end. It is also maintenance free for Chandler as it will jus fade off.
3. Finally, we sent him home with some Brilliant Emolliant for shine and Liquid Pomade product to complete his look. Now he will not have to invade his kitchen to spruce up!
Patty was great to work with as well, and she was really open to change. Patty shared with us that she has had the same hair cut since she was 10-years-old and never searched out another style.
She also opened up about her long-time fear about hair color. Patty really believed that any color process would damage the integrity of her hair. After giving her a little education about a semi-permanent hair color process (about how it really adds shine to her hair and protects her hair cuticle), she was on board.
Robert and Katie came up with a low-maintenance updated "sexy" plan of action for Patty as well.
1. Grey coverage- Katie brightened her color and covered the grey at the same time with AVEDA's semi-permanent color. Katie used a warm reddish brown to add depth and shine. This is again great for someone who is on a budget due to the fact that it will fade without a new growth line, so you get to choose when you would like to return to the salon.
2. Hair cut We added some soft texture around her face, which you will notice gave a more youthful look.
3. Make up - Katie used a bronze eye shadow to bring out her eyes. The biggest update was to use a matte brown in her crease instead of the shimmer she had been using to open up her eyes and update her look.
Small changes that make big statement are great for everyone's budget. Call Elixir Salon & Day Maker to schedule your complimentary hair and make up consult today!
