State Fair Winner: Spiced Pumpkin Soup

  Helen Fields of Springtown won a blue ribbon and a $100 cash award in the new Make It with Malt-O-Meal contest held at the State Fair of Texas this year.

Her recipe was ranked 1st out of 13 total entries.

This is not the firs time Fields has competed. She's participated in cooking and baking contests at the State Fair of Texas for many years with her daughter and granddaughter.

She first tasted Pumpkin Soup in Jamaica and was hooked from there on out!

This new recipe contest asked entrants to make any food creation with any Malt-O-Meal brand cold cereal.
