Get Healthy Texas: Power Plate Burns Belly Fat

Losing that stubborn belly fat requires changes in diet and workout routine. CBS 11's Gina Miller set out to show how exercising on a power plate vibration machine could help shake off that unhealthy fat around your belly.
One of the best ways to get rid of belly fat is to work out. Exercise is essential. From a challenging aerobics class, to a simple walk, there are a variety of ways to include activity in your daily routine.
One of the newest contraptions you might find at the gym is the power plate. The machine creates an unstable environment that engages every muscle in your body.
"It can increase collagen, and make the appearance of cellulite look less and it can decrease the toxin level in your body which can help bring down the levels of your cortisol [stress hormone] which will help you bring down your body fat," explained personal trainer Ron Smith.
A plank is something you can do specifically to tone your midsection. Smith says the vibration from the plank "Is creating unstable movement throughout your entire body. It actually makes your core engage a little more [and] your glutes engage a little more".

all of which, helps burn stubborn fat.
After the work out, do some stretches to cool down and you'll be ready for your next session at the gym. Smith says, "A good 4-5 exercises on this is gonna be a real nice kicker to your workout."
