Eco-Friendly Products Don't Have To Break Bank
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
Recent consumer surveys show Americans are hesitant to buy green products because they are cost prohibitive, CBS station WCBS-TV reports. However, there are ways consumers can save money using online coupons for green products.
Web sites like GoGreenDeals.com, PristinePlanet.com and Ecobunga.com offer the latest in eco-friendly coupons. Some green products coupons can be printed and taken to a store. Others provide codes consumers can use while purchasing products online WCBS-TV reported.
"Some of them are .50 cents, $1.00, even more. And because they're constantly refreshed, I get to try new products all the time," said Pam Hudson, an eco-friendly products consumer.
Shoppers can find savings on everything from grocery store staples to eco-friendly clothing to cleaning supplies.
"What they will see is a range of sales offerings, anything from free shipping to 10- percent off to 60-percent off," said Laura Meyer, CEO of The Ultimate Green Store.
"We look for products that conserve water, save energy, that support organic farming," said Karen Schiff of Ecobunga.com.
Many of these sites also send e-mail alerts about sale items.
"We will send the deals on a daily basis or weekly. It's delivered right to their inbox so that they have a pulse on what's going on with the site," said Malcolm Newsome of GoGreenDeals.com.
The sites WCBS-TV spoke with said they check every offer and follow the guidelines of groups like Green America and the National Resources Defense Council" to make sure these products meet their eco-friendly claims.
