Dallas Mom Says 'Living Foods' Helped With Cancer
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
A Dallas mom says she is living proof that the secrets she found, 1200 miles from North Texas, helped her survive Stage-4 cancer.
Betsy Vincent was diagnosed with tissue cancer in 2007. After being diagnosed the cancer quickly spread to her lungs. "I think when you have Stage-4 cancer like I do, a lot of people do, your whole life becomes a prayer and you look for things god might be directing you to," she said.
The diagnosis made her think about her family and her two young children. "I just don't want them to grow up without a mother. That breaks my heart," explained Vincent. "And I want to see them graduate from high school, maybe get married, at this point, graduate from elementary school. I just don't want to miss anything."
Desperate for a treatment that would work, Vincent found the Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. The institute's director of operations, Scott Josephson, said "We've healed people of horrible disease." Vincent went in for treatment and spent two weeks at the institute.
Hippocrates teaches a 'living foods' diet. Vincent talked about the diet, saying "If you flood the body with Chlorophyll, that creates an oxygen rich environment and the theory is that cancer cannot live in an oxygen rich environment."
Now Vincent's diet consists of foods such as sprouts, beans, greens, carrots and cucumbers. According to Josephson, "These foods get broken into liquid form and if it gets absorbed in the small intestine and body it makes the immune and lymphatic system get stronger." But Josephson also warned that, "Meats have issues, meats can cause a plaque, sugars can be a tremendous enemy and when you deal with cancer, sugar can enlarge it and what living foods can do is potentially shrink it ."
It's been a year since Vincent went to Hippocrates. She lives on tomato-avocado breakfasts, salads, supplements, nuts and lots of green juices. "I think the diet has helped me stay off chemo for a full year. The doctors are not necessary big proponents; they are just in awe of my blood work," she said.
Vincent said the doctors are also in awe of the tumors on both her lungs and liver. "I am stable and there is very little change and I'm going to keep it that way. I knew it was a gift I needed to give myself, to roll up my sleeves and learn it so that I could be a good mom and be there for them [her children]."
Hippocrates is a non-profit organization which does provide scholarships to people who can't afford the cost of treatment - which can be up to $15,000.
The institute offers classes in health and exercise, but Betsy Vincent stresses that you can learn a lot about the diet simply from a few books.
Betsy Vincent recommends these books for learning more about the diet:

2. The pH Miracle by Robert Young Ph.D
