Woman Posts Alleged Assault By Dr. On CraigsList
A Frisco woman says she was sexually assaulted by her doctor. Now she's turned to the popular Web site, hoping to find other victims.
The 36-year-old went in for a physical in Plano before her hip surgery. She says the doctor also gave her a breast exam.
"The best way I can describe it is he coped a feel," the woman, who does not wish to be identified, said. "It happened so fast that I was lying on the bed, asking myself in my head, 'Did this man do that?'"
She called Plano police and filed a report. Her case was refereed to the Texas Medical Board. A spokesperson for the board said all accusations are reviewed by investigators. If there's sufficient evidence then there's a hearing.
"I've had breast exams before. This was not a breast exam," she said. "I know I was clearly violated by this doctor."
This mother now wants to hear how others have dealt with it. She's hoping her posts on CraigsList.org is a start.
"If this is a doctor of the age that he is, and he did what he did to me, there has to be other woman out there that this has happened to," she said.
Plano police tells us they are waiting for the Texas Medical Board's investigation before they take any action.
A spokesperson for the board said there are a few things you can do to try and protect yourself. First, check to see if your doctor is board certified. See if they've had any disciplinary action taken against them. And always ask for a nurse or assistant to be in the exam room.
