Our New Look

(CBS 11 News) You might have noticed that things look a little different around here.  We've updated our site in several ways recently, and we hope you'll find the changes helpful.

The biggest thing is a change in the design of our site to make it cleaner and easier to read.  We've also improved our site so it loads faster than ever, so you can get to the news much more quickly!

Our search engine is much better, too.  Just enter your keyword in the box at the upper right and hit "go" or the <enter> key.  You can not only sort your results by date, relevance, topic or type (video or text), but you can also see what other people are looking for on our website in the "Top Searches" box to the right of your search results.

Seeing Old Stories?

As is the case with most server changes, your computer may try to access our older or "cached" content.  If our website looks like it hasn't been updated – or your bookmarked page isn't loading correctly, don't worry.  You should be able to quickly correct the problem by hitting the <Ctrl> and <F5> keys at the same time.  This "hard refresh" should help ensure that you see our newest content.

What If The Hard Refresh Doesn't Work?
In most cases, the "hard refresh" (pressing the <Ctrl> and <F5> keys at the same time) will work.  But occasionally, some people may need to clear stored webpages from their computer.

To do so in Internet Explorer, click on the "Tools" link at the top of your Internet browser (directly under the address bar), then choose "Internet Options."  Under "browsing history," click "delete."  (If you'd rather not delete your browsing history altogether, you may have success by changing your "settings" under browsing history to "Check for newer versions of stored pages "Every time I visit the webpage").

If you're using Firefox, click "Tools," then "Options," then "Privacy."  Under "Private Data," click the "Clear Now" button.

After that, go to CBS11TV.com again and if you're not already seeing our current content, try the <Ctrl><F5> fix again.  It should work this time.

If that doesn't immediately correct the problem, you may need to contact your internet service provider.  If you're on a computer at work, contact your IT department.

What If CBS11TV.com Isn't Loading Correctly?
If you're seeing a big empty space at the top of our website where you should be seeing news stories but you can see the headlines when you scroll down the page, your Internet browser settings may be to blame (this is usually only a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6).

You should be able to quickly fix the problem by clicking "View" on your browser's toolbar.  Scroll down to "Text Size" and try "Medium."

You can adjust to a larger font on our website by clicking the largest "A" in the upper left corner of our website (just below the CBS11TV.com logo).

If the font correction doesn't work, your best bet may be to upgrade to Internet Explorer 7.0 (you can do it for free at www.microsoft.com) or switch to Firefox (available free at www.firefox.com).

We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience with our re-launch and welcome your feedback on our site changes.
