Man Arrested For Driving 150 MPH In Buick

GRAPEVINE (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― A man is behind bars after Grapevine police say they stopped him driving 150 m.p.h.

At about 3 a.m. Friday, police say, an officer was driving on Highway 114 near DFW Airport when a Buick flew past him.

Police say the Buick was going so fast that it took the officer some time to catch up.  When he did, he clocked the car going 150 m.p.h.

The speed limit on that stretch of 114 is 60, which would mean the car was driving 2 and a half times the speed limit.

The officer pulled over the Buick and arrested the driver, 37-year-old Ismael Esparza.

Police had the Buick towed.  Esparza was still in jail as of noon Friday.

There's no word yet on what model of Buick Esparza was driving.
