Vandals Smash More Than 50 Windshields In FW

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 News) ― Police say at least 54 people in North Fort Worth have had their car windows shattered.

Since Saturday, police have taken 21 reports in zip code 76137 and 33 in 76248.

It all happened in the very early hours of Saturday and Sunday. Many found small round holes in their car windows.

"It looks like they were shooting it out with a pellet gun or some sort of air gun," said Rick Munoz, one of the victims.

Others like John Hartnett found rocks inside their damaged vehicles.

"It was in the back seat. There's glass throughout the entire car, all the way up to the dashboard," he said.

According to police reports, nothing was taken from any of the cars.

The victims say it just appears to have been some sick prank, and they hope whoever is responsible will pay in more ways than one.

"The best thing would be if they could pay for this cause that's really the ding is the money," said Hartnett.

"Everybody's out their deductibles. Right during the holidays with the way things are… It's kind of a tough thing," said Munoz.

No suspects have been identified. Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
