Allen Man Injured When Car Rams Into His Bedroom
ALLEN (CBS 11 News) ―
An Allen man was sleeping Saturday afternoon when a car crashed into his bedroom.
Christy Galofaro came home Saturday to neighbors telling her the story what happened to her son.
Christy's son, 20-year-old Cody Galofaro was taking an afternoon nap when a car came crashing into the room.
Investigators say the driver lost control while driving down a nearby street, coming over the median and hitting a tree before colliding with the house.
Cody's 8-month-old son and girlfriend were also in the house, but were not hurt. Cody was taken by air ambulance to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
The Galofaro family tells CBS 11 that Cody received burns to 70 percent
of his body. Doctors tell the father they might have to amputate a leg.
Parkland Hospital says Galofaro's condition was upgraded to Fair Sunday afternoon.
Neighbors were understandably surprised. "It's one of those things that you don't expect to happen to you, you don't expect to see it" says neighbor Tonya Starzyk.
Police are investigating how the accident happened. The driver, 42-year-old Tammy McFadden, was also transported to Parkland. She's listed in Fair condition.
