Richardson Robbery Suspect Arrested After Standoff

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― There were some tense moments in Dallas late Sunday when officers from three agencies swooped down on a suspected armed robber.

The robbery happened around 2 p.m. Sunday at a Richardson CVS pharmacy on East Buckingham. An employee there told CBS 11 News the suspect poised as a customer before robbing the store.

Richardson police were joined by Dallas police and sheriffs deputies in tracking down the suspect. Police found the getaway van at a motel near I-30 and Jim Miller Road.

The agencies keyed in on the suspect's room while evacuating the other hotel rooms. After a two-hour standoff, the suspect surrendered. No shots had been fired and no one was hurt.

While police feel they have the robbery suspect, the driver of the getaway van is still at large.
