DPD: 4 Gunmen Rob Man Of $400,000 Worth Of Jewelry
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Police are searching for four gunmen they believe are responsible for stealing an estimated $400,000 worth of jewelry.
The theft happened in the 500 block of Crescent Court, just outside a Stanley Korshak.
According to initial reports, an out-of-town jeweler stopped at the World Trade Center and was then followed by the armed robbers to Stanley Korshak. He was in town to show his merchandise to potential buyers.
"They were tailing this guy, following him, finding out exactly where he was going with this jewelry," said Dallas Police Sr. Cpl. Janice Crowther. "It appears they had well planned how to take this jewelry away."
The jeweler exited the store and retrieved his car from the valet. That's when police say he was jumped by the four gunmen.
"Three suspects come out of nowhere. They pull guns on them, make everybody get on the ground and then they take the jewelry."
Police say a fourth suspect was waiting in the getaway car.
"It all happened so fast," said the valet attendant. "These guys definitely knew what they were doing."
Witnesses tell police the gunmen fled north on Maple Ave. in a silver Nissan SUV.
