Man Robs Fort Worth Barber Shop With An AK-47
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 News) ―
Wednesday evening several people watched as a man rushed into J's Unique Style Barber Shop in Fort Worth with an AK-47.
"It was the biggest gun I ever seen in my life," said Tony Riley.
The gunmen pointed the assault rifle at the 35-year-old hair stylist and his customer.
After ordering the victims to the ground, the robber told them to empty their pockets.
"I was just
let's give him what he wants and hopefully he won't shoot," said Riley. "He was the same way. He was like, 'Hey man. Take it. I want my life. Just take it.'"
The robber got away with about $400 before backing out the front door.
"I knew we were gonna be next," said salon owner Jacqueline Bennett.
She said several other businesses in the area of Brentwood Stair and 820 have been held up recently.
"I'm scared. I'm just gonna come in the mornings and get out before dark," said Bennett.
She also plans on installing surveillance cameras in the barbershop and urging her employees to be extra careful.
"It's just made me realize we have to be more cautious. Let's keep the doors locked, and you gotta watch everyone who comes through," Riley said.
Police are still looking for the getaway car. It's a late-model, metallic tan or beige Grand Am.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Worth Police Department.
