Police: Dallas Teacher Sexually Assaulted Student
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
A band director at a Dallas middle school was arrested Wednesday -- accused of the after-hours rape of a student.
Calvin Beckton is on staff at Boude Storey Middle School in Dallas. The 26-year-old teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl on school grounds. The alleged assault happened on October 28.
After being ordered to turn himself into the Dallas County Jail, Beckton was taken into custody.
CBS 11 News sources say they believe there is another student who is a victim of the teacher.
Police are not saying if the alleged sexual assaults were forced or the result of improper relationships.
Bond for Beckton is set at $150,000.
