Officials Order Garland Daycare To Shut Down

GARLAND (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― CBS 11 News has learned a Garland daycare center has been operating illegally and has been ordered to shut down. Police are also investigating the director of the daycare center for allegations of sexual assault of a child.

Monday, the 55-year-old director of the Amiel Christian School was arrested and charged with the Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Tuesday, police say another parent came forward alleging Cesar Najera-Zavala sexually assaulted their child. Police are investigating the report. 

Najera-Zavala reportedly goes by the nickname 'Pastor.'

Garland police believe one of the alleged sexual assaults took place at the school, which is located in the 2800 block of Kingsley Road. Officials say the victim was a girl under 10-years-old.

The name of the facility is the Amiel Christian School, but from all appearances the school was being run as a daycare. The facility reportedly advertised that children, from age 3 to age 14, were accepted.

Najera-Zavala is being held in the Garland Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
