Residents Near Frisco Say Water Making Them Sick

FRISCO (CBS 11 News) ― Residents in a Denton County subdivision say the water from their private well is making them sick. About 160 homes rely on the well for water.

Homeowners say they noticed a heavy smell and taste of chlorine in their tap water on Friday.

One woman said her son took a couple sips of it and became sick to his stomach. Residents also say the clothes they've washed have been faded.

They called the water company Aqua Texas on Friday but no one came out to fix it until Sunday afternoon.

"I just wish they would have done something about it," said Holly Camfield. "If we called and we said, 'Hey the chlorine level - for whatever reason - is really really high.' Why didn't they come out and check it? Why didn't they come out and just fix it? Why didn't they shut off the water and tell people that it's not safe?"

Sunday afternoon, CBS 11 cameras captured a technician from Aqua Texas working to fix the problem. No employee from Aqua Texas would publicly comment about the matter.

Residents say they still have no idea when their water will be back to normal.
