Found Body Could Be Missing Cleburne Woman

CLEBURNE (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Police responded to a call regarding a body found Friday evening near Buffalo Creek in Cleburne. When officers arrived, they discovered the decomposed remains of an adult female.

Later Friday night, the Cleburne Police Department said that they believe the body is that of 67-year-old Virginia Burns, last seen the morning of October 9 at an apartment complex in the 700 block of North Main Street in Cleburne.

The body was found about five blocks from that location.

During the initial search for Burns, police helicopters had twice searched the area where the body was found, but dense trees prevented authorities from finding anything.

An autopsy will confirm the identity of the remains and help authorities determine the cause of the death.
