2 People Charged For Murder 16 Years After Crime
by Stephanie Lucero
WYLIE (CBS 11 News) ―
In August of 1990, 20-year-old David Grubstein was shot execution style in Wylie. Now, two people have been charged with his death.
Two days ago Wylie police arrested 35-year-old Ronnie Shy of Pilot, TX. He's charged with capital murder.
Cinnamon Nemec is the second person charged in connection with the murder. She's 35 now, but at the time Nemec was 19-years-old.
"The victim's body was found with his hands tied together with a belt, and he was shot to death with a shotgun," Collin County District Attorney John Roach said. Roach says the murder was drug-related.
Grubstein's body was found in a wooded area just off Highway 78 in Wylie.
Working with the Collin County District Attorney's Cold Case Unit, Wylie investigators re-examined and re-interviewed witnesses.
Police say high-tech gadgetry is not responsible for these arrests, but good old fashioned police work is.
"The only thing we're concerned about is whether we got them all," Roach said.
The Collin County DA says it's likely there will be more arrests in this 16-year-old case.
