Crews Respond To Dallas Building Fire
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Crews responded to a building fire in Dallas early Monday morning.
The incident happened at the City of Dallas Street Services building on Good Latimer Expressway, in the Farmers Market area.
Paul Lora of the Dallas Fire Department said that crews had a hard time getting to the fire. "The firefighters had to cut through the chain-link fence and the chain-link fence also in the back of the building to make sure the fire didn't progress to the recycle bins," he said.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames, but hot spots are still being monitored. "At this moment, the blaze is under containment. It's not going to go anywhere else," said Lora. "The firefighters are going through it right now and just double-checking for hot spots."
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Early morning traffic was impacted by fire. A section of Good Latimer Expressway was shut down, forcing commuters to look for alternate routes and creating backups throughout the area.
