Dallas Firefighter Injured In 3-Alarm Fire

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Authorizes say a Dallas firefighter was not seriously injured when he fell through the second-floor roof of a unit at the Sun Colony Apartments Monday. The firefighter was helping to put out the flames of a 3-alarm fire.

The complex is located on Royal Lane near Audelia.

Eight families lost most or everything they own. The Red Cross has moved everyone who needs a place to stay into hotel rooms.

The fire started just after 5 p.m. when power was restored to the complex. The power had been out for much of the afternoon. Fire investigators will look to see if that played a part in starting the fire.

Flames and smoke poured out of the complex before it was put out around 7 p.m.
