Dallas Police Association Suing City Of Dallas

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― The Dallas Police Department's largest officers' association is suing the city to find out if high-ranking chiefs are getting hidden bonuses.

The lawsuit was filed on Thursday by the Dallas Police Association, which represents about 2,400 of the department's 3000 officers. The suit wants to force the city to disclose what it alleges is a new performance incentive plan.

DPA attorneys believe the department is trying to circumvent the salary structure set for sworn officers by paying hidden bonuses.

The lawsuit is also seeking documents on a planned reorganization of a planned reorganization of the department.
