FBI: 'Scarecrow Bandits' Rob 17th North Texas Bank

Police say the robbers known as the Scarecrow Bandits struck again Friday afternoon.
According to the FBI, today's hit is the group's 17th armed bank robbery since July of 2007. During some of the first robberies the suspects wore straw hats and overalls, now they've changed their attire.
The latest caper happened around 1 p.m. in DeSoto at the Comerica Bank in the 1400 block of N. Hampton.
Witnesses say as many as six men, wearing black clothing and masks, robbed the bank at gunpoint. At least one of the men jumped over the counter and took money, while the others controlled the lobby area. No one was hurt.
Friday afternoon FBI agents and DeSoto police searched the neighborhood around the area of Wintergreen and N. Hampton.
FBI officials warn that the robbers are considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone recognizing the robbers or has information about their whereabouts is asked to the Dallas FBI Office at 972-559-5000 or their local police agency.
A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
