PD: Fort Worth Woman's Disappearance Suspicious

by Mark Johnson
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 News) ― A North Texas woman seems to have disappeared without a trace and today, police say they are concerned.

It's been 48 hours since Glenda Furch has been seen or heard from.

Investigators from the Fort Worth Police Department's Crime Scene Unit were at the Hidden Valley Estates Apartments, in the 400-block of The Heights Lane, near the Woodhaven Country Club in east Fort Worth for more than four hours Monday. After being given permission to search the 51-year-old woman's apartment, police say they found evidence which has them concerned about her safety.

Fort Worth police photographed several pieces of possible evidence that they found in the dumpster outside of Furch's apartment, including two towels, a bath rug and a piece of paper.

Police also spent part of the afternoon talking with apartment residents trying to find out as much information as possible about Furch and her possible whereabouts.

Furch, who is a worker at the General Motors Plant in Arlington, was last seen late Friday night when she returned to her apartment from work.

The woman's two daughters and other family members spent the weekend trying to contact Furch, to no avail.

When Furch didn't answer numerous calls and failed to show up to church, family members say they became very concerned.

"We kept calling the phone back," said Shimon. "We have a sick grandfather, and we knew she would pick up the phone eventually, knowing they're calling back and back. She never answered the phone."

Furch's car is also missing. The 1998 4-door gold/champagne colored Mazda Millenia has the Texas license plate L69-SJL.

Anyone with information about Furch or her missing vehicle is asked to contact police.
